A few tips for finding the right wedding DJ.
There are tons of websites that can assist in the screening process as well as listing questions of what to ask the DJ. With the guidelines from these sites, you could find the right DJ for your event but you could also end up finding a not-so-right DJ. The generic questions have gotten you a generic DJ.You've gone through the tasks of personalizing your wedding invitations, perhaps choosing a theme that suits you and your significant other, finding the right dress, etc. that reflects both your personalities. Why not take it a step further with your DJ and ensure that they're also right for you.A few things to consider:1. If you start your quest by going to Google and search for "wedding DJ", stop right there! Ask friends or relatives for a recommended DJ. It's easy to forget the generic DJ's but also very easy to recall "that" wedding where you danced all night and hit all the right cues.2. You meet your Pastor or Minister. Why not meet and get a little personal with your DJ by having a coffee to chat? You'll have an opportunity to drill your DJ with questions and they should be able to answer them all with ease. Your DJ in turn should also have a willingness to get to know you a little bit as well in order to get a feel of your personalities to ultimately shape the soundtrack to your wedding day.3, Look for a well rounded DJ. Not one who's done wedding after wedding after wedding. They tend to have a narrow music playlist and could likely play the same song after song as the last wedding they've done. Consider a DJ who's performed at a combination of events and venues i.e. clubs, corporate events, private functions, etc. The different forms of exposure will test their ability to control the dancefloor and broaden their musical tastes.4. Musically, the DJ should ask you for everything that you will want to hear. From specifics such as your first dance to your favorite genres of music. A good DJ will take all your special songs and tastefully fill in and transtion everything in between. Alternatively, ask for the DJ's music interests. If there are similarities between your tastes, bonus. But a skilled DJ should be able to conform and find no objection to your requests.5. Lastly, you get what you pay for. 'Nuff said? :)- DJ BLOO
